Music at St. John’s firmly embraces the rich musical tradition handed down from the Church of England and the Episcopal Church USA to interweave the highest forms of music from the past and the present into our worship. If you would like to be a part of music at St. John’s there are many ways to participate. Please contact Joel Gregory at joel@stjohnsmontgomery.org or call the church office to let us know of your interest.
CHOIRS
St John’s Choir – A choir of adult professional and volunteer singers that sings the 10:30 am Sunday Eucharist services and various feasts and fasts throughout the church year. Rehearsals are Thursdays beginning 6:00 pm in the choir room and at 9:45 Sunday morning preceding the morning service. If you are interested in singing with this choir, please schedule a meeting with Joel by email, joel@stjohnsmontgomery.org, or call the church office at 262.1937. Previous choral experience is extremely helpful. An audition to evaluate voice placement, tonal memory, and music reading skills is part of the meeting. If you are considering joining this choir and would like to observe or sing through a rehearsal, you are welcome to join us. Please let us know in advance if you would like to observe a rehearsal so we can have music ready for you.

- Choristers from this group are invited to learn to play the tower bells based on merit, attendance, and participation.
- E-mail Joel at joel@stjohnsmontgomery.org or call the church office at 262.1937 to be a part of this choir. Or… simply join us in the choir room on Sunday morning.
