Dear People of St. John’s,
The Bishop of Alabama has requested that all gatherings at churches in the Diocese, including worship services, be suspended for the next three weeks. At St. John’s we will abide by this precaution and will not hold Sunday or weekday services through Sunday, March 29. At that point we will reevaluate and make necessary decisions.
For that time period, no meetings or gatherings of any kind will be held at St. John’s. I will still be in the office each day and will be available for any pastoral needs you may have. My cell number is 334-312-0347. You may reach me at any time of the day or night and I will respond.
So that we may continue to hold some semblance of communal worship, beginning this Sunday, March 15, and continuing on March 22 and 29, we will offer Morning Prayer with Sermon on the St. John’s Facebook page via Facebook Live at 10:30 am. You may also access that livestream by using this YouTube link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCS2K0pViHs7eS7-lhghifHQ
Additionally, by way of Facebook Live, on weekdays we will offer Morning Prayer at 8:10 am and Compline at 9:00 pm In this way we hope to encourage you to pray for each other and feel connected to our church family.

These are unusual times for all of us and you are very much in my prayers. May our hearts be extended to one another in compassion and calmness. May we be deepened in our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. And may we all come to trust more and more in the mercy and grace of the Almighty God who made us and loves us.
The peace of God, which passes all understanding, keep your hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God, and of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord; and the blessing of God Almighty, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit be upon you and remain with you always.
