Each Wednesday during Lent, St. John’s will host a speaker during the noon service followed by lunch prepared by area Episcopal churches ($7 per person).
On Wednesday, February 24th, the preacher is The Rev. Becca Stephens.
The Rev. Becca Stevens serves as Chaplain at St. Augustine’s Chapel at Vanderbilt University and is founder of Magdalene, residential communities of women who have survived prostitution, trafficking and addiction. The Rev. Stevens founded Thistle farms in 2001, which currently employs nearly 50 Magdalene residents and graduates, and houses a natural body care line and more. She has is one of the premiere speakers in the US, proclaiming love as the most powerful force for social change, has written nine books, been featured in magazine, radio & TV, and was named by the White House in 2011 as one of 15 Champions of Change: Working to End Domestic Violence. Becca lives in Nashville with her husband and three sons
