- Mission & Outreach
For 5 Wednesday nights during Lent, St. John’s will host various priests from throughout the south who will teach on a topic of their choice. A dinner will be offered at 6pm and the teaching series will begin at 6:30pm.
A separate teaching series will be offered for children and youth of the parish.
Children ages k-6th will be led by our Christian Formation Director, Sarah Collier, in a series called “Keeping the Fizz in your Faith. Youth of the parish will meet with our youth director, Caitlin Gilliam, in the EYC room, keeping it Real & Relevant.
The nursery will be available for babies & toddlers.

The Reverend Henry L. Hudson is Rector of Trinity Church in New Orleans, LA. He is a native of Birmingham, Alabama and graduated from Tulane University in 1974. His seminary training was completed at Nashotah House in 1977, with study at the Absalom Jones Theological Institute in Atlanta. He and his wife Mary Beth have two grown sons and 4 grandchildren.
His ordained ministry began at the Church of the Nativity in Huntsville, Alabama. He served as Rector of the Church of the Advent in Sumner, Mississippi and then as Rector of St. Paul’s Church in Meridian Mississippi. His last parish before moving to New Orleans was as Dean and Rector of Trinity Cathedral in Little Rock Arkansas. His passion for ministry is centered in pastoral care, pastoral preaching, and a zeal for evangelism in the broadest possible venue, the ministry of reconciliation for all God’s children. Henry now serves on the Board of Kingsley House, the St. Thomas Community Health Clinic, and numerous civic organizations.
