The Right Reverend W. Andrew Waldo was elected in 2009 as the Eighth Bishop of the Diocese of Upper South Carolina. Bishop Waldo is also known for his support of the work in Haiti.  Bishop Waldo has paved a way forward in the diocese with his work on reconciliation around difficult issues in the church. His self-proclaimed “radical centrist” position on issues of controversy and his encouragement of dialogue helped form a diocese that treasures our unity in Christ.  Bishop Waldo is the son of the Rev. Mark E. Waldo, Sr. and Anne Waldo and grew up at Church of the Ascension in Montgomery. He maintains an active interest in this his hometown and, as a model railroader, is working on a replica of downtown Montgomery as it was between 1947-1954.
