The Gospel of John

Women’s Bible Study
The Gospel of John
Led by Candice Frazer
Advent Semester: September 11 – December 4
Easter Semester: January 8 – April 23
Monday mornings at 8:15am and
Monday evenings 5:30pm social and 6pm study

The Gospel of John is an enigmatic and fascinating story of the Good News of Jesus Christ.  Though many of the stories are similar to that found in the Synoptic Gospels of Mark, Matthew, and Luke, there are several events particular to this Gospel and important in our understanding of who Jesus is and what he did while on Earth.  We will spend this year critically examining the Gospel—its origins, message, and impact on what we believe as Christians.  All women of the church are invited to be a part of this study.  Please contact the Rev. Candice Frazer at with any questions or to reserve your space for this class.

Men's Group

Men’s Group
Led by the Rev. Jamie Osborne

Meetings begin Sept. 11 at 6pm

This group seeks to provide an environment of stimulating and respectful theological conversation for the men of our faith community.  Along the way, we’ve discovered that new and sometimes surprising friendships arise in the process!  Conversations focus on readings, videos or other media selected for each week by our clergy, and each session closes with a prayer service called An Order for Compline.  Past topics have included Christian ethics, prayer, poets Kay Ryan and W.H. Auden, the creeds, and contemporary theological and scientific perspectives on the origins of human life.  Except when otherwise noted, St. John’s Men’s Group gathers on Monday evenings at 6pm in St. John’s library.  Dinner is provided and participants periodically throw in cash to defray meal costs.  Contact Jamie to be added to the email distribution list
