Remembrance Sunday

REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY AT St. JOHN’S
Something Precious was Given
Sunday, November 13, 2022, is “Remembrance Sunday” at St. John’s Episcpal Church of Montgomery, Alabama (113 Madison Avenue) . The event begins at 10:15 a.m. in the Labyrinth Garden. The Rev. Dr. Duncan Johnston (originally ordained in the Church of England) will offer a liturgy of remembrance and healing for our fallen service members. Afterwards, all veterans and cadets are invited to process with the clergy, acolytes and Eucharistic Ministers into the 10:30 a.m. service. The Labyrinth Garden will have hundreds of ceramic poppies, courtesy of the Hansen Gallery.  Paper poppy boutonnieres from the local Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 96  will be provided to all who attend Remembrance Sunday. After the 10:30 service, photographs will be taken of our veterans and cadets who are open to having their photograph on the St. John’s and Diocese of Alabama websites. Bring a veteran or cadet and join us for this liturgy of healing and remembrance.
