Wednesdays in Lent 2017

Wednesday during Lent are a special time; each week we have a visiting preacher/teacher from within the national Episcopal community.  The schedule is as follows:

12:05pm – Noonday service with a sermon by our visiting speaker
12:35pm – A luncheon is offered.  Each week various Episcopal churches or womens’ guilds prepare the meal.  The luncheon is open to the public & there is a charge of $7
5:30pm – Holy Eucharist
6pm-6:30pm – Dinner is offered.  $6 for adults, $4 for children & a family max. of $20
6:30pm-7:30pm – Each week’s speaker teaches on a topic of their choice.  Children ages 4-6th grade have their own separate teaching series.  For Lent 2017 the children’s series is “The Gospel according to Dr. Seuss”

March 29:  The Rt. Rev. Russell Kendrick – Bishop of the Central Gulf Coast

April 5: The Rev. Dr. James Turrell – Professor of liturgy and Associate Dean for academic affairs at the School of Theology of the University of the South, Sewanee, TN
