Students Receive Backpack Blessing

Yesterday, students at St. John's received a special blessing and a tag for their backpacks as a reminder that God is with them as they return to school.

Additional backpack tags are available in the church office.

Blessing the Backpacks prayer
Loving God, we ask you to bless these backpacks.
May their straps never break, may their padding never wear out, may
their zippers never jam.
May they never get lost; may the burdens in them be light.
May the shoulders that carry them be strong and healthy, and may the
minds that remember them be as sharp as new pencils.
So, children, the Lord bless you and your backpacks, in the name of
the great Teacher at whose knee we are all students, Amen.
